The Word

In the beginning was the Word. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. (John. 1:1-3 )

And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth. ( John. 1:14 )

Now this is where it has seemed hard for me to explain to people what these verses mean but I will do my best. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and empty. And darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. “And God said;” ( God spoke) , and then there was light. God had to first speak before light came into being. It is through the Word ( Who is Jesus Christ), of God that all things were made, or came into being if you may. The Word ( who is Jesus ), had to be spoken before anything could come into fruition. There was nothing that was made that was not made by and through the Word of God. The ERV vesion reads John1:3 like this: Everything was made through Him, and nothing was made without Him. Gods Word, His spoken Word is Him ( God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ ), God has to speak first before anything comes into being, or could be made possible. If God doesn’t first speak His spoken Word then nothing comes into being. Jesus Christ is Gods spoken Word who was born of a virgin woman from the Spirit of God Himself. Jesus Christ was Gods word incarnate ( born in the flesh ), 50 % of the flesh and 50% of the Spirit, let that one sink in. What does that mean? I don’t know. I have my thoughts but at this point in time I am not ready to share them. What Christ did while here on the earth only came after the Father spoke His Word, and Christ heard that word, For He is the Word of God, and acted upon it.( John. 5:30 ). The Father had to first speak and His spoken Word came into being thru Jesus Christ who is the Word of God. This is why Jesus Christ said to the disciples that no one knows the day or the hour not even Himself (The Son), knows in which He is to return. Only the Father who knows the day and hour. The Father has not yet spoken the word for His return. In the first chapter of Genesis we read that God first said (Spoke), and only then did His spoken word come into fruition. In the old testament the literal name of Jesus’s does not show up. it was only until God told Joseph that he would call Him Jesus that the Name Jesus was spoken by God, thru His Word.( Matt. 1:20-21 ). God and His Word are one with one another, they always have been and always will be, in perfect union with one another. Gods word is God. Think,of it like this; when you promise someone something saying, “I will be there to pick you up at such and such time,” you are in essence given your word to that person and you stand on that word. Who you are as a person is reflected upon the promises you make thru the words you speak. If you are always late people will say , “Well you know him he is always late, you can’t count on him.” or people will say of you,”He is always on time, he is a very truthful person, if he says he is going to do something you can take it to the bank that he will follow thru on his word.” This in essence is who God, His Word and the Lord Jesus Christ are. To God His word is His everything. . Scripture shows that His spoken and written words cannot be separated from His identity, as He is faithful, eternal, and unchanging ( Num. 23:19 ).
